Systems Engineer, Systems Management & Solutions Architecture

Overview

Supports the daily operations of all areas of VNS Health system management (i.e. authentication, desktop deployment, remote access, antivirus technology, password expirations etc.) and provides technology support to other staff members. Supports business SDLC life cycle project initiatives and the PMO to ensure deliverables are met under budget and on a timely basis. Works under general direction.

Responsibilities
• Supports management team to meet deadlines and job requirements. Provides subject matter expertise to others on team regarding high priority or special projects undertaken by the area. Supports management and may help coordinate team schedules and availability. • Provides technical/consultative knowledge to ensure effective design and integration of VNS Health systems. • Assists in supporting IT management in projecting software and hardware costs. • Prepares status reports for the department manager and keeps management aware of issues. • Supports technical documentation creation for Disaster Recovery, Business Continuation and appropriate service level agreements (SLA’s). • Systematically coordinates and align resources with strategic and operational activities. • Assists with evaluation of new technologies and appropriate budget forecasting. • Supports all desktop and client related deployment and operating system upgrades (example: Windows 8.1 / Windows 7). Centrally deploys/pushes out security patches, or operating systems upgrades agency wide. • Assists in maintaining systems management infrastructure (SCOM SCCM and related Technologies). This tool enables IT to monitor performance of patch level, and every individual system on network. Affects every client user and back end server • Assists in maintaining enterprise antivirus technology across enterprise, and ensures technology runs effectively. Troubleshoots and resolves issues as they arise. • Assists and supports VNS Health enterprise active directory which supports authentication and authorization process for end users and supporting systems. • Supports security policy development and enforcement in collaboration with VNS Health IT Security Team. • Helps support internet proxy server and remote access for all VNS Health Enterprise. • Supports Microsoft system inventory and monitoring of all critical systems to ensure smooth operations and no disruptions. • Assists with end-user protection and encryption technology on laptops and mobile device (i.e. mobile iron). This technology enables VNS Health to wipe VNS Health equipment (i.e. laptop) clean and/or determine location of equipment if stolen or lost. Configures architecture and ensures technology is appropriately functioning. • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Licenses and Certifications:
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) preferred Core courses toward completion of Cisco certification (CCIE) preferred

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience required Advanced IT degree preferred

Work Experience:
Minimum of four years’ IT related experience required Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager or other Systems Management technologies preferred Experience in a server administration role managing applications, processes, workflows, and business continuity preferred Two years’ experience developing and supporting package and image deployments using Microsoft SMS/SCCM, MDT or other Systems Management technologies required Experience and/or expertise in supporting enterprise-level Microsoft server environments which includes but is not limited to Microsoft Server 2008 Active Directory with Windows 7 clients, WSUS, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, and/or SCCM technologies preferred
